Restore German Electrical Plug (ein Stecker / Schuko)
Hello,
I have a 1953 Loewe Opta desktop radio. Long ago I did a stupid thing- I cut off the german plug and put on an american plug. Now, I want to correct my mistake and restore / repair my radio to original with a german plug (ein Stecker or Schuko).
Does anyone know where I can find a german electrical plug (ein Stecker or Schuko)?

Hello Matt,
most of the German oldtime radio sets around 1953 used not Schuko-Stecker (Schutzkontakt = earth contact type plugs ). Only sets with metal contact outside of the set to mains earth needs that.
So you can use German type two contact mains plugs without earth contact. Please visit a search engine and fill in for example "Conrad Electronic" and later on the web site look for part number (Bestellnummer) 624002 - 62.
Important: You can use this plug only, when the mains cable to the set has 2 wires (not 3). In case of 3 wires you have to use a Schuko-Stecker.
